All are 20.1", 1680x1050 native, 8ms monitors. All have decent reviews with "minor" issues to me, i.e. a dead pixel or two, slight backlight leakage, etc. I understand this is an LCD in the sub $500 class and do not expect perfection.

The LCD will be driven by an X1800XT PCI-E.

Pricing is as follows:
Sceptre - $359.99 after MIR
BenQ - $389.99 after MIR
Dell - $439.99 no MIR

The usage will be about 25% web, 45% gaming, 15% HDTV viewing, 15% DVD.

Which of these will be a happy mix of decent color reproduction, minimal to no ghosting, and decent viewing angles? The most important to me is the ghosting, followed by color reproduction, then viewing angles.

Did I miss a more suitable alternate in the same range? My original target was $400.00 shipped.

Dell 2005FPW should have decent viewing angles, great color reproduction, and little blurring or smearing in motion.

The Dells have a proven record of being pretty damn good. If you decide to go with the 2005FPW I would definitely wait around a few more weeks hoping for some coupon codes to pop up. Check out Hot deals, and if there havent been any deals for it lately, theres bound to be one coming up. Its been as low as $335 but even around $375 is just an awesome deal.

And btw, the 2005FPW is only a 12ms (16ms panel with overdrive), but to me I don't care about a 4ms difference especially if they aren't tested the same.

PERSONALLY, I notice almost NO ghosting on my 2005FPW (a little bit of tearing, but thats a Vsync issue). The backlight bleeding is extremely minor (one of the best I've seen of pics posted) and I have zero dead pixels. The color reproduction is comparable with my old 19" crt which was a high quality aperture grille. And finally the viewing angles of the S-IPS panel used in the Dell are just awesome. I can sit as far as an angle to still see it and there is very little change in display. I was actually pretty surprised by this since I've seen a lot of LCDs (computer or TV) that get very bad as soon as you step away from directly in front.

I have considered the Dell before i posted, but it pains me to pay $439+tax for this monitor, even though I know it is probably worth it. I just can't talk myself into it when it has been $100 cheaper. Hoping if the 2007FPW is announced soon, maybe the price will drop or a hot deal will pop up. Anyone else have any opinions on the other 2?
