Onboard sound is good enough.

A stand alone soundcard will provide higher quality audio and better 3D in games. For that I recommend either the Audigy 4 OEM $70 or the Audigy OEM $30. You can spend more on the X-Fi at $140 but it's not worth double the price of the Audigy 4 OEM in my opinion.

I see. In that case the list should be, if anything, finalized. Due to a very messy and busy schedule I can only pay a visit to Memory Express next Friday. I'll be sure to tell you guys how it went.

Thanks to all who helped. Your contributions will not be forgotten. :)

Dell is great if you want to buy a PC and use it as is without much upgrading and you want good tech support/warranty, ease of purchase etc. They are also great for organizations that need to deploy a large number of PC's and manage/control them.

The reason people don't like Dell on these forums is because most members are computer enthusiasts who like to build their own PC's from parts giving maximum customizability. With Dell you have to deal with propietary parts such as mainboards, BIOS, PSU, case that aren't flexible in terms of upgrading. Also, for the price of a high end Dell, you can build a PC from scratch using higher quality components.

Basically, the users of this forum are not the target market of Dell.

maybe you should head over to that thread called whats wrong with dell or something. I posted 3 incidents that i had with dell that directly contradict your first statement.
