best gaming 19" crt?

i have a viewsonic Af90+ and i like it just fine. At first I couldnt go past 75hz @ 1280x960, but now I can...might be the omega drivers or something...so yeah...i like my viewsonic.

I suggest the NEC FE991SB or the Viewsonic G90f. I will get either the FE991SB-Black or Viewsonic G90fb because I find those to be enjoyed by gamers. I hear that the FE991SB especially works GREAT for games. The G90fb is cheaper and it seems like more people prefer it. It isn't a trinitron but that doesn't matter to me personally. I wouldn't say NEC is basically like Sony's monitors. For one thing, they aren't grossly overpriced🙂 and they use DiamondTron technology not FD Trinitron. They ARE different, such as DiamondTron uses a different amount of electron guns, or uses just one, or something like that. I heard it on here so I know someone could clarify that for me.

I would recommend the G90fb because, unlike the FE991SB, you won't have people saying it is good and another half claiming 'fuzzy text' and is a sure bet to be a good product. I don't know if the FE991SB is under $250, but is about $258 on Newegg and the G90fb I know is under 250.
 
hey thanks. 258 is on the upper end, so i will have to think about it. i am looking for a black cabinet, though.
 
NEC and sony's aren't the same... I hooked up my computer with my dad's Sony Trinitron 20" (aperture grill wires) and it looked good, but it looks twice as good on my NEC 19" (invar shadow mask). I wish i could have gotten a 20" Nec, but oh well.

Get any NEC that an A.G. Tube....I would get a Shadow Mask. Dell is a great place to find them. Use a 20% off coupon and then get free shipping. I use to have a NEC FE950+ Black CRT and it was the bomb, got an NEC LCD to replace it. My buddy has the CRT know and is very pleased.
