Best games out there now?

For various reasons, Ive been out of the gaming loop for a few months (school, tests, vacations, etc).

What are some good currrent/new games? I have the hardware to run just about anything, and was thinking of buying Battlefield 2. Is there anything else I should grab while Im at the store?

I like all genres but sports and racing.

Psychonauts is an excellent game. Pick it up for the PC along with a gamepad (you'll need one).

Sounds like I'll go with BF2...

Ive already tried HL2 and Doom III.. ok games, but I'm looking for something new now.
