Definitely NHL94&95 (very similar, basically the same game). Played FAR more than 1000 hockey matches with these games and the all-time highlight of my PC gaming "career" remains a Stanley Cup Final series against a friend in NHL95 were we battled for almost 6 overtime sessions until I could score the game winner and take a 3-0 series lead (we had an agreement not to use the cheap moves). He had monster chances though including a situation where my goalie was slightly out of position and he had basically an open net but somehow fired it over the crossbar. It was just great.

i may get killed for this but, Super Street Fighter II for SNES. That game was wicked. After that all the SF series turned stuped (alpha z 123, zero 8, blah, blah, blah). Peace out.

System Shock 2, the game was an awesome experience
The game I play most is for sure NHL2001, maybe because I'm an ice hockey referee:p

Best of all time: DOOM -- It launched the FPS'ers of today and nothing has come along that changed the gaming industry like it did.

Best graphics: Unreal/UT -- Can't wait to see the Unreal 2 engine in action.

Best online game: Tribes -- Still no better FPS for team play.

Best solo game: No One Lives Forever -- One of the few solo games I actually finished.

Game I'm currently playing: Serious Sam -- Takes me back to the Doom2 days. So many baddies at once! BTW, this game is a great value.

Dune II

NuclearNed--M.U.L.E on Atari 800 was a close call for me. Remember when EVERY Electronic Arts game was good?

There's a little known (in the US anyway) series called the "mysterious dungeon" series that was released in Japan by Chun Soft. To put it simply, they are basically graphically, and gameplay wise, enhanced versions of Rogue. During the transition, the difficulty was not lowered though, and it makes for a hellishly difficult game, with the tradeoff being that you can play it forever, discovering new tricks and tactics on each venture.

While the games never made it to the US, you can play NetHack, which is basically a freeware update of Rogue available at http://www.nethack.org . While I haven't played the game for a while (since the cart/Super Famicom isn't immediately available), the series would have to be the best games I have ever played, period.

Everybody I know that played M.U.L.E. loved it. If someone made an updated version (i.e. something that would flex my geforce but still retain the fun of the original), I'd race to the store to buy it. If anyone from Electronic Arts reads this, please speak up...

Wheete--M.U.L.E on the Atari 800. 4 players at once.

NuclearNed--Agreed. But, alas, I believe the rights died with Dan (Danielle) Bunten when he/she died. Actually, Bunten had been approached about an update of the game, considered it, but declined because the company wanted to bring war aspects into the game....which, would've made it a real kicker of a game. NUTS.

I used to carry my Atari 800 and its outboard 5-1/4" drive on trips with me, just to play M.U.L.E. against my bro' and 3 friends.
