Okay, I've been recently playing some of my favorite games like Thief: Deadly Shadows and GTA: San Andreas. I've heard these games work really well with controllers and that the PS2 controller was near perfect for them. Can anyone recommend a PS2 like controller that works well, such as a Logitech or a Saitek controller? Any help would be most appreciated, if you want my specs, check the rig in my sig.

I would be surprised if a PC gamer used one of those PS2 style controllers.

Mouse otherwise buy a PS2 or X-box.

Ah, that looks Perfect! That baby is gonna be mine! It has 4 top-side buttons which is what I was looking for, I prefer to have a lot of buttons for everything that I do!

I found the logitech controllers to feel really cheesy and especially didn't like how loose the analog sticks were

closest thing I could find that felt good was the Thrustmaster Firestorm

little harder to find, but well worth it in my opinion

I really like my wireless Logitech Rumblepad -- it works great and didn't feel as cheap as the blue Dual Action pad.

Alternatively, you can get a PS2 to USB adapter that lets you use a PS2 controller on the PC. They can be gotten for probably less than the cost of a new controller. I think RadioShack has them, but I picked one up for my brother for $12 shipped off Ebay.

Radioshack sells a PS2>USB converter for like $10. Why use anything but a DualShock 2? I have one, and it's great, autodetects with windows, etc, I love it. Install the included drivers if you want and you get force feedback. I did a complete review of it a long while back for a site called blackdimension but it's gone down since.

The only problem is it doesn't support the analog buttons, so no pressure sensitivity.
