Best Free Pop-Up killer?

thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I was actually asking for a buddy who's computer has been taken over by pop-ups.
I told him to run AdAware first then install one of these pop-up killers.

A few there that I will check out myself though :)

PopUpCop works great for me.

I tried that Promixtron or whatever one.. was too confusing to use.

i cant belive that no one has even mentioned the google toolbar, damn.

and also he mentions Firebird is a no go....

I use POW! Nothing fancy, just a little bitty program that doesn't do anything more than I tell it to.

The Google 2.0 beta Toolbar causes my IE6.0 SP1 on WIN2k to load slowly. A literal 10-seconds before the IE window even appears. When I disabled it, IE comes up right away. Since it kinda kills IE's speed (and I open/close it many times a day), I just uninstalled the Google toolbar on that machine altogether.

I installed it on IE6.0 SP1 on WINXP and it's perfectly fine.

I reported this behavior to Google. Anyone else experience this ?

no, my uber comp still loads ie just as fast
