Best Free Firewall?

According to a Windows newsletter, OpenBSD is the best firewall.

yes! version 4 sucks. my internet connection dropped to less than 1mpbs when I should be getting close to 3.

I uninstalled ZA to try out Kerio based on the recommendations and I couldn't be happier with the decision. I'm impressed with the flexibilty and level of control in Kerio. It isn't that much more difficult than ZA but you do need to spend a little bit more time to understand how program control works.

Yea so I fdisk my computer to install a fresh copy of XP. I figure "let me download v4" hoping that they ironed out the bugs. Everything was cool, except my download speed was very slow. I went to dslreports and found that I was getting somewhere between 900kbps - 1mpbs. I called comcast and they asked if i was running a firewall. i said yes and they never questioned it nor did I realize it could be the problem. They finally said "we'll send someone out this weekend."

I decided to disable kerio just to test something and what did you know! I was getting 3mbps with kerio disable. I found the link to v2.15 and i was getting 3mpbs and thats where i am now. I didnt like v 4.0 because the port filterings was a mess. It wasnt straightforward as it is with 2.15

err... no slow downs w/ kerio 4 here.... i used to like 2.x, but gave 4 a try again. I actually like the advanced features of control. Will give AVG 7 a try after I figure out how to install the trial..... i might actually buy em.

I used to love zonealarm, but now I use the one that comes with panda anti-virus.
