My vote goes for SoftHome - been using them for about 4 yrs. w/no major problems, and they recently implemented SMTP Auth for their outgoing mail server, so you don't have to CHECK your email before you SEND an email.

If you have an Amex credit card they have a free email with a "username@usa.net" with free POP3 access, but to send email you have to go to their web site

Another vote for Amex Mail. If you have an amex card you get 10MB plus lots of free services. I use email forwarding all the time as I don't trust my cable ISP (comast) to handle my mail properly (just had to change from @home to @comcast.net!) They're recently changed their interface and it's much faster.

That's for the link, that's an awesome compilation of free web based e-mail. Looks like I might apply for an Amex after all.
