I just had a motherboard that was DOA. Tried for 2 hours to get the thing to POST last night and just couldn't get it to work. Tested the power supply, memory, processor, made sure there was nothing shorting it out, etc etc etc. Finally gave up at 2am after sending a depressed PM to the guy I got the motherboard from.

Woke up this morning and decided I should reset the CMOS to see what that would do.

Now it will POST :D:D:D:D:D

I just got ready to run to Best Buy and buy a new motherboard too. This isn't even my own computer, this is someone else's and the money would have come from my pocket :(

But now it works :D Feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest :D

YAY for POST! :D

I wouldn't call it the "Best feeling ever" but yeah, always nice when you "accomplish" something :)

Right now it is the best feeling ever, for sure.

I was going to have to be late on a car payment if I had to go out and buy a new motherboard. Was also going to drive 2 hours to get the board and possibly have to cancel a trip I had planned tonight to get this computer up and running in time.

1. Budget - you should have to be late on payments if you have the money

rossie that IS a good feeling! in fact, i go out of my way to take a road that if looked at from the side would look pretty much like ribbon candy just for that feeling!

but i think the "really really really REALLY REALLY REALLY gotta pee, then peeing" feeling beats that one...

I'm 21 and waiting until marriage :) So until then, this is the best feeling ever.

I was debating with myself whether Best Buy sold motherboards or not. I looked on their site and they had them, so I figured they must have been in the store and I just missed them. Maybe it's online only, but it doesn't matter right now ;)

I had to go to best buy because most online sites that I shop at can't ship you a motherboard the same day

I live in a small town in Minnesota. Nearest best buy is one hour away. One hour drive there + one hour drive back = 2 hours drive time just for a motherboard.

Oh, and about my budget. I do live on a budget and, sadly, I did not fit a fried motherboard into my budget when I did it earlier this month

Maybe but at the time I can amagin how good Yzzim was feeling. I know ive had nights where I wanted to get something to work so bad and I couldnt and then somehow I get it working and it creates a great great feeling.
