Best European vacation city? (late September timeframe)

Since you will probably like to avoid rain, you'll need to go to a city near the mediteran, but I voted Paris because it's probably my favorite town.

Amsterdam's good any time of year. I can't wait to go there at some point in my life. What a cool city.

Gah, feck Dublin. Belfast is where ya need to go, just stay away from the east side.

Actually, I kinda prefer the sights of County Clare and Kerry over both Dublin and Belfast, but I know where you're coming from.

You've never been, but apparently you know it's good any time of year?

If you're looking for bang for your buck I'd go with Prague. You'll spend less and have a better time.

Yeah Prague was the one city that I most wanted to spend more time in out of Rome, Florence, Venice, Munich, Paris, London, St. Petersburg, Brugge, Brussels, Helsinki, Dublin and Amsterdam.

Definately, though my list is Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, London, Berlin, Paris, Prague, Moscow, St Petersburg, and Poland. The fact that it's the city I can best afford to spend more time in doesn't hurt.

North Cyprus (Kyrenia area) There is a small town called Girne. Girne Harbour is supposed to be Mediterenian Seas most beautiful Harbour and I couldn't Agree more! Lived there for 2 months and my mothers buyfriend has a house in that area. They're going there August 1st and IM STUCK IN IRELAND WORKING!!!!!!!!! BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (Sorry)

Alsom theres nothing wrong with dublin. That where I'm living atm and i love it here. Well. the weather could be better though but other than that its a nice city and theres much to see. Also we have Phoenix Park which is the worlds 3rd largest Suburban Park. Beautiful. You can get really close to all the deers in there.

The further South you go on the European continent, the warmer it will be.

I usually travel in September since prices start to go down and the children are back in school. The temperature is still good but not obscenly August hot.

Rome is best during this time. If you go, visit further south in Naples/Pompeii/Sorrento/Capri area. You'll kick yourself forever if you don't see the amazing beauty of this area which is a short ride south from Rome!

You Green?
I love Dublin, but I was raised in Belfast, so I got to hold my loyalty. Just as long as no one mentions Cork, I think we can walk out of here without a fight. 🙂

Copenhagen is a blast, as is Oslo and Stockholm. London is ok, didn't care for Berlin. Paris sucks. Prague is great, but stay away from the touristy crap. Lots of nice pubs. Moscow...no idea. St. Pete was horrible. Winter Palace and the outdoor markets controlled by the mafia were the only things worth seeing.

I took four semesters of college Dutch with a teacher who spent 40 years in the Netherlands. The only thing left for me to do is visit the country...I already know the language and much of the culture. 🙂

it depends on what you like to do.

museums? architecture tours? out-doors activities? nice views? relaxing atmosphere?

my favorite city for a relaxing atmosphere is Florence, but if you're looking for a vacation packed with museum visits and architecture tours, I'd recomend Rome or Paris.

Is there really a lot to see in Dublin? I was in Dublin for one day and did the bus tour. Maybe it's just me, but when part of the tour starts talking about doors and lamps, then I doubt there's much to see there. Only thing I enjoyed while in Dublin was the Guinness Brewery.
