I, like several other people on here probably, have a lot of email accounts. I'm using Outlook to check them all, but in my inbox, i can't tell which account each email is going to. Is there a way to do this in outlook (xp), or is there a better email program for this, thanks.

Use outlook express, and set up Identities.

Each account has it's own folders and you don't confuse emails/folders with other accounts.

or what you can do is to create folders under the Inbox, like a@a.com, b@b.com....and then create a rule so that any email going to the email address will be put into its folder. That's what I have in Outlook Express

Eudora has 'personalities' (I guess it's the equivalent of Outlook's identities?) and setting up filters to direct each personality's mail to a separate folder is pretty simple.

In Outlook 2000 when you have multiple accounts and you send mail how do you select which account it sends the mail from?

We use Outlook 2K, and set up different user accounts in Windows XP. When I sign into my Windows account, my Outlook (and theme, desktop icons, etc) is all mine. I thought about the folders rule, but everyone can see everyone else's mail. And then the question of whose account does it send mail from? Outlook Express identities work too. I wish they had identities in Outlook.

This was one reason I removed Outlook2000 and went back to outlook express when every body used the same computer in the house (now there are 5 computers). I can't remember procedure but it is so much more convoluted than outlook express.

The only problem with outlook express and using rules is that often emails will still make it into the catchall "Inbox" folder and everybody can read everyone else's emails. Its much better to use a sign-on to each person's desktop.

Hmm, I'll have to check out Outlook Express then. :) Too bad there isn't an easy way to do it in Outlook...you would think it would be easier to do slightly complex tasks in a paid program rather than a free one.
