I voted Thunderbird because I think it's the fastest client of all of them.....resources don't suffer for it like they do with Outlook.

I do understand that Outlook has it's place, but that would only be in an organization that requires collaboration. Shared Calendars, appointment scheduling, etc...

I know it's posh to hate on Microsoft (heck, I even partake sometimes), but Outlook > *.

Outlook is way to heavy for what I need for my personal email.

I use Thunderbird.

Thunderbird. Outlook sucks so hard it's not even funny.

why does outlook suck hard?

Okay, as an email client it sucks. It's like driving an 18-wheeler to the grocery store to pick up a frozen pizza. It certainly has more useful capabilities, but I've always been saddled with poor implementations of it, and various performance issues have soured me to it. And a bunch of it's little quirks here and there over the years have really gotten under my skin.
I can't think of anything about Thunderbird that bugs me. It does exactly what I want without any grief, and doesn't do anything extra.

sorry man...lotus notes FTL

Your telling me...and we are on R5 so we dont even have the latest version.

Oh, man, if there's anything I dislike more than Outlook, it's that abomination. I can't believe people still use it.

So what you're saying is that there's nothing specific that you can state about why you don't like outlook other than that it's too powerful to just send/receive.

Gotcha.

No, there's a number of specific things that I could list, and have done previously, but don't feel like rehashing. Search if you'd like to read them.

Now that I can understand. Sometimes you just don't feel like posting the same post over again in a thread that's been done a billion times.

Lotus Notes FTW!! Big J/K on that one. I hate Lotus but have to use it at work. At home I still use Eudora just because it's what I've used for the past 8 years. I'm starting to migrate to webmail (specifically gmail)

I prefer buying a Ferrari to drive to your mailbox daily, as opposed to your analogy ;)

If you can afford to buy a ferrari, then your mailbox is probably quite a ways away down the giant 5-mile driveway. Who wants to waste time getting the mail when you can get back home to your expensive barbi-doll-wife who's dressed up in a french maid outfit? :Q

I use an extremely (8 or 9 years) old version of Eudora. It barely recognizes an attachment and doesn't render HTML, which for me is perfect. Go ahead and try to infect me with any thing via email. My client is so dumb, you can't possibly succeed.

Anyways, Outlook 2003 FTW! Syncs with your Pocket PC, handy. Who the hell doesn't use Outlook at work. Meeting requests, exchange, etc etc.. all so easy..

I still use Eudora. Nice client.
