best eide raid setup? need input

hey i want to build a raid array (raid 0 or 0/1)either ata 100 or ata 133, 2 or 4 drives, what is the best card/drive combination that that will yeild the quickest highest out put of any array.

for the drives i've been thinking of the Cavier drives that have 8mb of cache@ 7200 rpms

i don't want any drives larger than 60gb used, i just don't need that kind of space.
 
I don't think they make a 60gb or smaller HD with 8 megs of cache.....but I would suggest getting a 7200 RPM Maxtor or WD. Also, if possible I would go with a motherboard that has on-board RAID. They perform much better, except motherboards with VIA chipset. VIA chipset mb's have some sort of latency problem that causes performance to not be as good as it should be.
