The best movie with edward norton in it is the 25th hour IMO. I also really like American History X, but it's just a bit too flawed. American History X would be the best eward nortion performance I have seen, with primal fear a distant second.

Never seen it, therefore it doesn't get a poll spot :)

Your poll sucks. I motion for a ban if you don't add Primal Fear and Death To Smoochy to the poll options.

Agreed. I forgot about Primal Fear. Excellent...except for Richard Gere. ;)

Actually, that is one of the best acting performances I have ever seen. It just bugs me that Richard Gere is in it. I hate him. ;)

Primal fear was well acted but the movie was mediocre compared to the others above. I say this despite the fact that it has norton AND another of my favorite actors, andre braugher.

I hated Fight Club.

As far as acting, American History X is by far his best work. Simply amazing.

american history x and primal fear are too close for me to call. american x had the strong emotional performance, but primal fear had the character transformations and attitudes nailed down very well.

[light spoiler]

but i might have to give the nod to primal fear because when i first saw primal fear and saw the end, i was

I thought you were talking about Art Carney who played Ed Norton on The Honeymooners. The actor you are talking about is best know as Edward Norton. Yea, I know its stupid, but thats probably why he likes to be credited as Edward not Ed.

(in Ralph Kramden voice) Norton!

25th hour? Never seen it. Maybe I can add this to Shitflix and it won't be a "very long wait"

25th Hour is one of the five greatest movies I've ever seen and it is by far Norton's best work because it's a role that perfectly suits his ability to convey inner turmoil. I'm a pretty jaded movie viewer, but this movie affected me emotionally. It has no point and is nothing flashy, but it does what it sets out to do which is to pull you into this moment of time in these people's world and batter you around with their emotions. It's a spectacular achievment for this film that it succeeds.....if you're paying attention, there's no way you can't feel just what each character is feeling. It also has a gorgeous score and an ending that will haunt you.

Hell, I started a thread about it here months ago when I first saw it and was shocked I hadn't heard anything about it until then.
