Hello all
We have quite a few kids movies DVDs we'd like to make copies of to use in the car's DVD player. Most of them are bought here in Japan, if it makes a difference. If possible, would like something intuitive to use, ie something a grandma could use. Just simple 1:1 duplicate copies if possible.
As a side, I also have some mp4 video files I'd like to burn to DVDs for the same purpose.
It's an older DVD player, so doubt it can handle non-standard formats for simple movie DVDs.

Thanks a lot!

CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD
Not cheap, but probably the simplest.

If you can still find them, DVDDecrypter or possibly even DVD Shrink are some old programs that should do most DVDs. However they won't overcome anything with Arcoos protection and some of the newer Copy Protection schems. They are free.

For making copies of DVDs I use DVDFab. For making DVDs of video files I use ConvertXtoDVD.

For disc copying, the best solution would probably be anydvd + imgburn.

But per your request for dead-simple, I'd pick DVDFab.

1:1 duplicate copies

Strictly speaking, when making 1 to 1 copies, you don't compress or leave out anything in the movie. This will normally require double layer blank DVD's to burn, since most movies on DVD's are larger than the 4.35GB that you can fit on a single layer disc. And your car player may or may not read burned DL media well. But it is possible to compress the entire movie down in size.

For dirt simple, I'd recommend AnyDVD running in the background and DVDShrink to rip and compress to fit your single layer target size. AnyDVD has a generous trial period and Shrink is free to download and use. Download Shrink from here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD-Shrink

Burn to disc using ImgBurn.
