Best Earbuds for ~75CDN ?

My sister is trying to upgrade her headphones looking to pay ~75 CDN for earbuds

Preferably with interchangeable size since shes got small ears, in-ear and possibly noise canceling..

 
I don't think getting the CX300 is a good idea when OP's asking for what's best at the price range he's asking for?

The CX300 clearly nowhere near that. It's known for flabby and uncontrolled bass. However, I admit that it's good for the $0 to $20 price range.

it's selling for C$100 here in Canada.
 
I can tell just by looking at them the second you try to jog they'd just fall out of your ears too. Those christmas tree lookin ones are what I'd go for but they are bloody expensive.

really? they come with 3 sizes and the wire goes behind neck. I tried my wife's and they seem secure. They sound a hell lot better than the ones that came with her Zune.
 
From the looks of it, Sennheiser CX300s or Creative EP630s (or their updated versions) seem like the way to go. IEMs are probably not the way to go, because they can be painful to put in and are a bit overkill. CX300s/EP630s have interchangeable tips and have good isolation, but not so much that your sister would be completely unaware of her surroundings.

You must have really tight ear canal or using the wrong tips, 'cause once I put the EP630 in my ear, I forget it's even there, or my surrounding for that matter.

whut? cx300 is IEM...
 
Maybe I should explain... I don't consider CX300/EP630s to be IEMs - I call them canalphones (on the basis that they use dynamic drivers rather than armatures). I love my EP630s - they're easily my favorite portables when I need something for isolation but still need to interact with my environment. My iM716s have seen less and less use, just because they're extremely inconvenient. I use the triflanges and I really have to shove em into my ear canals. I use the big tips on my EP630s, too, so my ear canals aren't really that small...

True. The CX400 and CX500 greatly improve on this tho.
 
How are the Shure SCL3 compared to the above listed..

Amazon.com doesn't ship those CX300 400 500 to Canada so those are out.

I would check out the V-Moda Vibes.

Very nice phones that I had a year or so ago. Paid about $100 US back in the day. GBP to USD conversion rates were fantastic then though!
 
She ended up getting CX500 off ebay.. for 45 CDN

The high end range is pretty good. Much better than iPod earbuds.

Does not seem to beat my MDR 300 though, especially with respect to bass... but I am sure thats because it would be hard to beat a 30mm driver with a IEM.

I might think about getting myself a pair of CX500 from the same seller as my "pocket" headphones, my MDR300 are kinda bulky for normal use.

At the moment I don't care though since my iPod is only used in the car.
