What is the e-mail program you use?

What is Exchange? My school's e-mail system has "native exchange" I believe but there is no documentation on it. Is it worth switching from thunderbird for?

Gmail is hot ...gmail+ calenders + an exchange exchange account from mail2web to act as a drop bucket for my phone etc is hotter
