Best e-mail program?

I use both Outlook Express & Thunderbird. I really prefer neither.

I work in a mostly unix shop but we do have personal XP notebooks.
Thunderbird was the mail client of choice. For most people it worked fine but for me, it just wouldn't open messages properly once I clicked on the header. When I would start the program I could open some mails but it would stop. I removed everything from the %PATH%, stopped the services for firewalls/Virus checkers but the friggin problems would persist.

I ended up using Outlook which is a remarkable client and has many more features but it has its quirks too.

I like outlook, especially since it syncs with my Windows phone and Hotmail.

Gmail is nice because i can access it anywere.

But if I really wanted to, I guess I could use Thunderbird too. I love all those mozilla products.

New Yahoo.com mail interface. Even has settings for not downloading SPAM/Junk for POP users.

But in all honesty OWA/Outlook2003 for Exchange 2003 is pretty good.

I use Thunderbird. As I understand it, Outlook has some pretty good advanced features, but that's not of any use to me. All I need is a simple email program, and Thunderbird fits the bill.

I used Opera's built-in client for along time, and I liked it fine, until at two different times, it lost all of my mail, and it couldn't be restored. I still use Opera's browser, but not the email client.

Tbird for me b/c

1) useful extensions- I use an extension to show a world clock for 3 time zones in the US, and also London and Tokyo. Also an extension to check the meanings and or readings of Japanese words

2) cross platform- been thinking of switching or at least trying Linux. This way I could import everything with no fuss, not gonna happen with outlook

3) customizable menu- I use "Littlebird" for theme to maximize use of space, and also put all menu items and toolbar buttons on one bar and hid whatever I don't use.

Gmails convenience outweighs everything. Just forward your pop3 accounts to it.

I use GMail. Outlook at work.

GMail is the smartest solution for me, don't need anything else.

No offense intended, but those that voted for Outlook or Outlook Express don't really know what a good email client is. Webmail is good, but it does not replace having a good email client. I use Gmail, but I would not want to use it alone.,

One that I forgot to mention is Pegasus, and it is free.
