Best e-mail client?

I was just wondering what e-mail client people like to use? I'm using Outlook right now but I want to switch because it crashes too often for me.

I love when I hit Send/Receive and get an Out of Memory Error. Like 768 total, around 500 available isn't enough...

Pine or Mozilla mail depending if I am at a terminal or I have to SSH to the email server from somewhere else.

i use outlook, although i'm ashamed to admit it. i'm just used to the interface, and it never crashes on me. the thing i hate though, is sometimes it momentarily freezes and doesn't refresh for a second, then it's back to normal and all the text i typed while it was frozen spits out all at once. a weird quirk, but i can live with it. also, i like being able to export all my mail, my contacts, and my calender in a single file.

OE or Outlook 😛

what the hell is Pegasus? I had a guy telling me today he used Pegasus.. NO clue what that is.

Pegasus mail is an old mail client that was pretty popular before Eudora became the main client used by most POP peeps. Pegasus is just outdated now though. 😛 I'm sure they have more recent clients, but Eudora is small and easy to configure. The only thing I don't care for about Eudora is that it attempts to connect via SSL if it's available. We all like security, but when you're popping all the SPAM these days, it takes a lot of extended server power to push that number of files across SSL. Outlook is much more SSL friendly. 😛

Just to let you know where the future of mail clients is going....it's going to the web. Most server applications provide webaccess that allows you to check your Email without requiring a client. They're getting better and better. I rememeber back in my Lotus Notes administration days that we struggled with the server to get it to run the web access. Outlook provides a pretty easy webaccess solution as does Netware's NetMail (my latest venture). For clients, I still stand by Eudora though. It's small, free, and compatible with most mail servers. Plus you can configure it for multiple users on one PC.

PocoMail!!!! This program transport email from crappy programs like incredimail (*winces*) This is the best mail prog i've seen except you can't password protect access to the accounts. VERY thorough settings and some sweet lookin skins. 🙂

This program gets 5 of 5 smilies.

🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Outlook 2k2. I don't have any of the problems described above, even when I was running older versions on my P2 300 w/ 64 meg ram.

I used to use Pegasus years ago, like back in 96.

Currently use Outlook XP after a few versions of Outlook over the years. I wish I could get rid of it, but of course it being MS, there is no way to export your e-mails to another mail client.
