Please refrain from bashing me for this if you don't agree, but didn't most of the stores like CC, BB, etc use Top Gun when surround started to become popular?

The Haunting DTS. Kinda hard to find (try eBay) but it has an excellent soundtrack. War of the Worlds 05 is also a good one to test your sub's lower extension.

Awesome scene! And the new version of the DVD fixes the color/brightness "bug"

Air Force One DTS -probably the best overall surround I've heard
House of Flying Daggers EDKO DTS -the forest/bamboo fighting scene, amazing sound
Master and Commander DTS-like posted before, a sub test, but ambient and cannon noise pretty impressive
A Bittersweet Life DD-really good use of surround, it really does sound like someone just walked out the door to the right.
King Kong DD - didn't hear much surround from this movie, just the ending with the planes

House of Flying Daggers
I like the first fight scene with the drum circle.
