Best DVD duplicating software?

Elby CloneDVD 1.3.11.2 to copy
and Slysoft - AnyDVD to remove CSS protection.

Only disadvantage so far - doesn't split a DVD (or at least, I can't figure out how to). Writes to + and - R media at up to 8x

Does anyone use DVD XCopy Gold? I picked up the BB BF deal of $20 AR, but it appears from research to be either buggy or just not worth it compared to various freeware apps.

Pinnacle Instant Copy with DVD dycrypter works fantastic

but if your going DVD x Copy, go with DVD x Copy PLATNUM. all the previeous DVD x copys were crap. platnum is lightyears better than all the previous versions.

400 "backed-uped" DVDs and counting 😉

i burned my first DVD last night. here's what i used:

1) AnyDVD to remove copy protections (at least i think it did, as the program runs in the background and doesn't actively do anything that i can tell. from the official website: "Works as a driver automatically in the background." oh...)

2) DVD Shrink to cut down the 7gb+ movie into a more DVD+R friendly 4.7gb

3) CloneDVD to burn the files to my DVD+R media and thus create the actual DVD

i had never used any of these programs before, though i am quite familar with the similar CloneCD. all in all, once i figured out what to compress/remove with DVD Shrink, it took <1 hour from start to finish to make my DVD, including installing these programs and learning how to use them. not bad. btw: the DVD i burned plays fine on my Toshiba home DVD player (i have a TDK 420 4X DVD+R burner).

if you want to create really good backups you might try DVD2SVCD (does DVD->DVD)...it will create your DVD output folder and uses CCE (the best mpg encoder out there)...

http://www.dvd2dvd.org

It takes longer, but the quality is unsurpassed!

all you need is shrink + burning app. shrink removes the copy protection.
all: make sure you are using DVD Shrink v3 Beta 5 (not 2.3)

cool... AnyDVD seems superfluous to me after using it with DVD Shrink.

why v3b5 and not 2.3? what's new/better? 2.3 worked for me...
