Best DVD Burner?

Ok, I haven't really been paying attention to these, but now, my dad wants one to burn his old home tapes with before they degrade completely. Anyone have any reccomendation as to what the best brand of DVD burner is out there?

These are the only ones I know of, out of these 2 i'd go for the HP, but it's spendy. I think around 6 bills.
