Best drive packaging?

Which online tech store sells hard drives and packages them the safest? Also, who seems to ship the least DOA drives, if anyone knows? Thanks very much, I need to order a drive and don't want to take any chances with it.

I've never gotten a DOA drive from any retailer, B&M or online. I've ordered from Dell, Tiger Direct, Newegg, Best Buy, ZipZoomFly and Staples. They all seem to do the same type of job with their packaging. Some of it is very good, sometimes it's very minimal.

My last two OEM drives came from Newegg and Mwave.

Both were in safe static-proof wrapper and protected from shock by bubble-wrap.

Hope this helps!

I buy mostly from Newegg, and all my drives have arrived in either a plastic clamshell or antistatic pouch surrounded by foam peanuts.

Sometimes they have a layer of bubble wrap as well -- sometimes not, but I've never received a DOA drive.

ZZF has clam shell + foam pouch + air bags.
Newegg has peanuts + bubble wrap.

The score is 2 DOA from Newegg (Shipped from NJ warehouse, minimal peanuts + very thin layer of bubble wrap, and one time just paper wad(!)), 2 OK from Newegg, shipped from a different warehouse other that NJ, and NJ again (but slightly more bubble wrap...but still lacking enough peanuts. I still got a pic someplace.)
2 OK from ZZF.

Oh, I also forgot 2 from Frys/outpost. Those were retail boxes though.

I think ZipZoomFly ships theirs in little foam "crates" which are then in a big box of peanuts.
