Whats the best Digital Camera in the $200-$250 range? Is any Cannon in this range a good choice? Or maybe something else? Won't be doing many print outs.

There have been some deals for the Canon A70 in that range. Just picked one up.

Check out some opinions here.

The site also has forums dedicated to Canon products here.

Canon A60 (regular price $250) or S200 (regular price $280). I got the S200 for ~$200 and like it. The A60 takes better pictures; the S200 is smaller and uses a Li ion battery pack

I may go with that Dell deal. What kind of warranty does Cannon offer and how hard is it to RMA one if it dies?

If you're gonna get the A60.. you might as well just get the A70 instead

Why is the Kodak 3.2-MP EasyShare CX4300 $20 cheaper than the Kodak 2-MP EasyShare CX4230 at Wal-Mart? Are these any good?

Crap double post

i'd get a Canon A70 but i already have the A40 with additional lenses.

Won't be upgraded to another digital for awhile, gonna hold out for a D-SLR, perhaps.

All Kodak and HP digicams suck beyond all belief, if you want a REAL digicam get a Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus, Minolta, Pentax, etc.

If I don't get a Cannon whats the next best one? Or the top 3 brands starting with best(which I assume is Cannon)? Reliability is a big need to.

Dell shows that A60 at $249.00: "...Or the top 3 brands starting with best"

I've been told to stick with the manufacturers who actually make their own lenses. That only leaves Nikon, Canon, Olympus and Minolta. I'm betting that A60 will end up being the best bang for the buck in your price range.

Why wouldn't you buy the BEST digicam when it's within your budget?

Unless your budget is NOT $200 - $250, in which case is what your REAL BUDGET?

The second choice would be the Fuji Finepix 2650 for $160 one major shortcoming is it accepts xD where as the Canon takes CF (cheap and widely available).

So why not get the Canon?

I picked up an open-box Sony P72 for $250 at Best Buy. I think its a pretty impressive camera for that price. You might look around to try to find a deal.

As I do not know much about digital cameras... The a60 looks like a good deal but it is 2MP (costs 200)... would 4x6 prints look better being shot from the a60 or a cheaper 3mp camera (like the sony dsc-p32)
