I have never owned a digital camera...i need something below $250...I compared some cameras below $250 at dpreview.com and its between Canon PowerShot A510, Canon PowerShot A75, or the Canon PowerShot A520. I just want the best bang for the buck and not too expensive...any personal experiences are welcome.

Thanks

P.S. I checked some previous threads and the A510 is pretty much the best bang for the buck...did I answer my own question?

Edit: just found this Fuji Finepix for $149...is this a decent camera

i like the canon a95 (should be in the $250 range i think) becuz of the swivel lcd screen.

the sd200/400 is a good, compact camera as well, however, i prefer cameras that take AA batteries.

thats odd. the price for this camera seemingly went up. maybe u can score a deal on ebay, or take a chance with one of the cheaper vendors on froogle.

The answer is any Canon digicam in your price range. Do some research yourself and check out all the digicam review sites. dpreview.com and steves-digicams.com

Is the A520 worth the extra $30 over the A510?

Generally canons have a good reputation. I suggest one that takes AA batteries so you can use rechargable NiMh batteries. They last 3 times as long per charge while in use as Alkaline. If you store them for over 1 month, recharge (current units take 15 minutes) before use. My set of 4 NiMh batteries with charger was $34 two years ago.

Fuji F10 or Canon SD400.
