Vista Sidebar?

Yahoo Widgets (aka Konfabulator) has an amazing collection of widgets and is available for Mac and PC (for most widgets).

Is Yahoo Widgets any better with system resources? I used it about 2 - 3 years ago, and it was way too processor and memory intensive just to have simple widgets (clock, battery gauge, performance indicator, etc).

I use Vista's sidebar. It works the best out of the few I've tried.

For XP I always use Google Desktop. I liked it a bit better than Yahoo Widgets.

I use Vista Sidebar, then remove the gizmos from the bar and close the bar. I can then put them anywhere I want on the desktop. :)

Yes, happened to me as well...hogs memory. Desktop Sidebar is much lighter.

I've used it for years and I never noticed it being a hog. But then, I usually used it on Xeons at work with lots of ram.
