best demo ever?

ive been playing the bf2 demo for a loooong time now. yet for some reason, it never gets old. ive played the civ4 demo about 50 times. i remember when the medal of honor sp and mp demos came out, i played the snot outta those until i bought the game.

whats the best demo ever, in your opinion, as far as length of playing time, fun factor, longevity, etc.?

 
Well, it was Shareware but ID games like Doom and Commander Keen immediately come to mind.
 
probably doom2 around the time it came out. played that forever and ever.
the guy we bought the pc from installed it before he delivered it to us and it was the only pc game i had at the time.

oh man, yes. i still have it on my computer to this day.
 
Wow you guys must really like demos... I played through the Far Cry demo twice, that's probably the most for me. I summarily bought it and its one of my favorites to this day. Trackmania Sunrise demo occupied me for a bit as well as I learned the 2 tracks and won the races.
 
The BF2 demo sucked up a lot of time for me. I also played the Hitman 2 demos to death. I eventually got the full game, but I found that I really only enjoyed the demo level.
 
Act of War.
I played that one level like a madman until I got my hands on the game.
Best sleeper of all times.

1.3 GB by the way.
 
Q3. UT2k3 wasted a lot of my time too. 😉 Can't forget RTCW either. Q3: Team Arena was a good time waster as well.
 
UT2k4, & actually, the Painkiller demo.

Ironically enough, i finished the PK demo several times, but after buying the actual game, i was so into UT2k4, i have never finished playing Painkiller...
 
I played the Diablo demo a LOT. And it was a demo that was pretty different than the finished product. It had the Butcher though. Played the Sacred demo almost as much.
 
UT2004....Quake3 back in the day...UT to some extent too...definitely FarCry when that demo came out, it really put my 9700 Pro to work 😉 (and it was't just eye candy, it was fun :thumbsup:[/i])
 
Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1942 were the demos I played the longest, and even that wasn't for a very long time. I usually just play a few full version games.
