Hi All,

I'd love to get some memory recommendations. I'd like to do some mild overclocking, but not sure I'm going to push the OC envelope. I'm looking to the future and wanting something quality that could be transferred over to a dual channel system in 2-3 years (my next build). Mostly concerned with having a fast gaming platform at this point. Will be using a DFI LANparty nF3 250Gb mobo. I'd finally decided on 1 GB of Patriot PC3200+XBLX only to find that newegg is sold out and I don't have time to wait on it. Heavy sigh.

I'd love to hear from those in the know. Who's purchased PC3200 DDR recently? Who's got stuff they are lovin'? Please do tell! Is it worth shelling out $250+ for 1 GB of Samsung TCCD chips or is more wise to look in the value/mid-grade range ($150ish)? Thanks for the help.

Newegg has another king of Patriot 2x512 memory. LLK I think instead of XBL. Best price for ultra low latency memory around.

Hi All,

Thanks for the input. Just a few hours after I posted my inquiry I got an auto-notification from newegg saying the PDP Patriot 3200+XBLX was back in stock. And the price dropped 4 bucks to $219! Looks like I'll be picking up a Gig of it. It's gotten some great reviews and even though it's probably overkill for most of what I'll be needing it for, it'll be nice to have the fast timings at stock settings and the opportunity to OC it when I need to eek out the last drops of system performance down the road. Thanks again for the help. I don't know what I'd do without these forums. Someday I hope to not refer to myself as a newbie. Happy Holidays!
