Best deal on great PHO SOUP in LOs Angeles?

Title kinda says it all. I'm looking for a place with a great bowl of pho at a reasonable rate in the Los Angeles area.

Thank!

7/12: Edited title to please the spelling police who must have too much time on their hands and are still missing many errors in this forum. No pho for them.

If you want good bowl of pho, head down to Orange County, specificially Westminster.

There are some good places in Alhambra as well, but I don't know too many around there. If you are near SoCal, there are some places in Hawthorne and Lawndale. I've also heard of some places in Chinatown, but I only eat Chinese food down there and never try the pho. Good pho can only be made by Vietnamese people and you have to go to places that have lots of Vietnamese people (i.e. Orange County)!

Aww another Pho lover. Best place to go would be Alhambra and Monterey Park. My favorite place is on Valley St. in Alhambra near 6th St... I *think* it is called Noodle City, not to be confused with Noodle World or Noodle Planet on Main St.
Last time I was there it was 4.50 per bowl and you can add extra meat for 1.50.

And, just as a side note anyone know where I can get decent Pho up in Berkeley? I've tried a bunch of places and its horrible...

Go to Oakland Chinatown, buncha places.

It is all about Pho79!!!

All the good Pho places are located in Alhambra, just so you know - and this is the best! (At least I like it the best out of the 10 or 15 places I have tried.)

Typical price is like $4.25 for regular, and I think $5.50 for large.

PM me if you want directions or anything like that.

Pho Rules!!!

Vi's in Oakland Chinatown, Pho Saigon in the Pacific East Mall out in Richmond. The best around here, I think.

<< Okay make that "LOS Angeles". May I be excused now? >>

you're excused once you edit the title :| 😉

danny~!

<< What the FVCK is PHO soup??? >>

Mmmmmm.... Pho.... It's a noodle soup with a clear broth and various ingredients, usually thin slices of beef, etc. I like adding bean sprouts, basil, a spritz of lemon juice, and hot sauce. Mmmmm..... I like Pho 88 in Toronto for a large at CAD$5.50 (US$3.60). The monster sized extra large is CAD$6. All go good with shrimp rolls.

P.S. I had Pho once in the prairies (Saskatchewan) and once in Aspen, Colorado. It was truly suck. I'd like to recommend Pho to everyone, but in places which don't have much of it, it can be really bad.

Dang man, thinking about this is making me fscking hungry!! The place I usually hit is PHO '79 I believe on Main and Garfield in Alhambra. Good stuff there.

Pho79 IS good, but there are a bunch of places. There's a place in Van Nuys in the valley on Sepulveda, just south of Vanowen, next to a Pollo Loco and a comic book store (forgot the name tho)

There is a great place called Noodle Planet (not to be confused with Noodle World lol never even SEEN Noodle CITY.lol.)on the south side of valley blvd. in Alhambra.

In San Gabriel there is a place on Las Tunas called the Something Deli, right on the corner of Mission and Las Tunas. (if you hit this place, pm me, I live down the street. hehe)

Hmmm...there are soo many!

Oh yeah, a real kick@ss place called BOK PHO somethingsomething on Las Tunas just west of Mission Dr. on the south side and they have FRESH FRESH chicken PHO and large containers for like 3.50 Most of it is inexpensive tho. I have yet to find expensive PHO. lol.

Good luck in your biblical quest!

Noodle Planet and Noodle World are owned by the same guy (friend of mine)
who is thai by the way
if you want real pho you have to go to Little Saigon in Orange County
pho restaurants can be found everywhere on Bolsa

Noodle World and Noodle Planet are not truely Vietnamese restaurants though. It's like a hodgepodge of Asian food.

Trust me, try out Noodle CITY 🙂. Its right on Valley, so it is near those other two restaurants. It is great. Ive been to just about every Pho restuarant from Alhambra and Monterey Park to San Jose, and that place is still my favorite. Man, a lot of us are from the same area, who would have known...

Kei: You know the guy who owns the restuarants? That rules.. Any chance on a discount?

Noodle World and Noodle Planet have mainly Thai influenced dishes.

Pho 79 has the extra large bowl for $4.95 and the best one I have been to is the one on Garfield. Their Pho rocks!

if you're ever in westminster. pretty much on every corner, every plaza, there's gonna be at least 3 pho restaurants. they usually run 4.50 for the largest bowl that has everything in it. don't knwo if you'll like tripe in there. but they various types of pho's depending on ewhat you want in your soup.

YO YO YO...hehehe san gabriel where the viets are!!! Pho all over on valley blvd and garvey ave. also

san gabriel blvd as well...it's everywhere!
