Guys,

I want to order Call of Duty: Black Ops for PC.

What is the best deal out there for pre-ordering the game?

I looked on Amazon and they are charging $59.99 even though it's the PC version and there is no "deal" whereas for the console version, it's $55!

They don't even give the 'Video-game credit' of $15-20 for pre-ordering it on Amazon.

So I am looking to take advantage of any deals out there for pre-ordering Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Please post them on this thread or let me know by PM.

Thanks.

Interested in this also. I think I saw a thread a while back saying Newegg had it for ~39.99 but it was over by the time I read it.

Also, has it been confirmed whether or not it will support dedicated servers?

It was $49.99 at newegg for that one weekend. got my order in then.

I'm surprised there isn't anything on steam yet. Usually they have a small percentage off of new games if you pre-order or shortly after release.

COD games rarely go on sale. I remember I didn't see a significant discount on COD4 until after World at War came out, and even then it was still $35.

They really don't have to put them on sale...they'll sell just fine regardless.

I personally don't plan on buying this one...Treyarch CoD games are worthless. I don't see Black Ops taking over for either COD4 or Bad Company 2 on PC's multiplayer scene.

Yup there's a reason why MW1 was still $40 when MW2 came out. They never make them cheap because they still sell like hot cakes.

Hmm it is kind of weird as normally there are preorder deals from Steam, Amazon, etc.

Then again someone did report that preorders for Black Ops were outpacing MW2 preorders, so I'm sure it is selling fine at full price. And yeah COD games generally take much longer to drop in price as I'm guessing they are selling well at the higher price points still.

I think Treyarch has been closing the gap between their COD games and Infinity Ward's. I thought World at War was quite well done. I understand the multiplayer had some issues but they supported it after launch well. Therefore I think Black Ops is definitely going to be well done.

Amazon already had a preorder for awhile. not sure on the pc version but PS3/Xbox has has like 10 bucks off, a couple like 20 off a future game purchase, and other misc deals.

... die hard fans don't care about the price, do they?

If it was advertised for $99.99 for the first three months, you know people out there are going to buy the game.

Drop it down to $89.99 for months 3-6?

Drop it down to $79.99 for months 6-9?

Drop it down to $69.99 for months 9-12?

Drop it down to $59.99 after 1 year?

There's your regular price after 1 year...

Will it retain its popularity? Yes.
Will it be an unpopular price, yes?
Will it increase piracy? ...Perhaps.

Sixty bucks for a video game? You know you want to play it.

If you worked at McDonald's for two days on eight hour shifts, done deal.
Put your money where your mouth is.
