Best DDR Memory modules I can get?

Looking for the best memory modules I can get. I don't care if they're PC3200 that overclock like crazy or PC4400 memory modules. The only requirement is that they have to be able to do their best at 2.8V (2.75v). As I have an IC7-G motherboard (875p) and I just realized I can't use the memory modules I have anymore.

Also if possible, could anybody tell me what the max 1:1 ratio anyone has gotten on an IC7-G motherboard?

Look for BH-5 chips or TCCD. But if you don't want to look for the chips just buy crucial, Mushkin, ocz, or corsair and its almost a guarantee you won't have any problems.

This article needs to be taken into consideration. Text

My Corsair TwinX1024 PC4000 Memory Modules, believe it or not, were holding me back. What was even worse was the fact that my memory dividers did not work due to the incompatibility these modules have with my board. If you read the article, it gives the impression that you can't use PC4000+ memory modules on the 875P platform. But then again, that guy wrote that article in late '03.

combo, I'd like something better than 3-4-4-8 @ speeds higher than 250MHZ.

I was thinking about getting this module from the anandtech review but then I saw that I can't really find it any more. OCZ PC4000 1024MB EB Platinum

So are there better DDR modules now? Or are the phasing them out entirely?

I went through a similar decision recently with my 865PE (P4p800-DLX) board. The problem is that you're investing in dead end tech, something that won't survive being upgraded and we're coming to the end of our product life cycle soon. My friends love my upgrades. I ended up with Kingston HyperX 3500. It's o/c'd now to 220 no problem (3.3GHz), but I just installed them and I also updated to MCE so I'm not sure of capabilities yet. Still, impressive o/c'ing on 4 banks (1.5GB) for memory that's <$100/GB. I'm hoping for the time to tweak this weekend, the 256MB modules (the 0.5MB) run to 230FSB 1:1 which was more than I needed. I guess my point is, compare the price difference in a CPU/memory upgrade vs a memory upgrade. With Conroe coming out, it may be a more stable/equal costed solution.

I've heard tell of 300FSB range o/c's on that board with an extreme cooling solution.

While you are right, it doesn't really matter to me anyways because looking at the future of DDR2, doesn't look like a very good future for it. And being able to see the roadmaps for AM3, I just think it's not worth it to upgrade for a platform that I KNOW will not last very long. I've never liked DDR2 and hopefully I'll be able to avoid it all together. So guys, whats some good DDR memory I can get?

Well, cooling comes into play at some point. If we assume you have an air cooling solution, one of those big honking HSFs, your max desired o/c will be about 3.6GHz. So;
3.6/2.8*200=257FSB or DDR 514 (there abouts).

I'd probably go with something like this:
G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) Dual Channel Kit

EDIT: Made the link prettier. Stopped my o/c at 3.4GHz (226FSB), but haven't optimized timings yet. Not quite the memory bandwidth of PC4000, but the simple performance rule is CPU Speed >> Memory Speed >> Memory timings, esp on these 865/875 boards.

257 isn't a very high overclock... I just had PC4000 modules, I don't see what I'd be accomplishing from going from the ones I have to these.. The max FSB I can post at on air is 282MHZ. So I'd obviously want higher clocking memory than the one you listed.

the gskill memory is supposed to overclock very high. You should give them a hard look. They are a great value too, with instant savings most of the time instead of MIRs. If you want LUDICURIS SPEED:shocked:, go with the one's I linked (ddr600)

Without extreme cooling (water, peltier) 3.6 was always the standard for the most o/c you'd want on the c-series processors. I don't think Corsair plays nice with these boards, you're kinda limited on DDR500-600. I'd agree with the G.Skill DDR600, but I really see you as processor limited much past 3.6GHz. With extreme cooling, maybe 4GHz (if you're lucky in the processor draw) or DDR 570.

those ddr600 gskills look sweet, but if you want 2gb, try these. i have this corsair in my asus a8n sli premium running 281x9 3-4-4-8 @ 2.8v i believe they could go higher but i don't want to drop the multi anymore. i went through 2 sets of crucial ballistix 2x1gb pc4000, and am still waiting for my 3rd set to get back from RMA. never again will i buy crucial, their customer service has been lousy.

here's a review
and another

WHOA DDR600....

*strokes 2x1GB G.Skill DDR500 kit*

Those are your TCCD chips acegazda...

There are many similar DDR sticks...

For DDR600 (2x512mb), I recommend OCZ's Platinum PC-4800 or Geil One TCCD or the Gskills posted in the link.

If you want tight timings, OCZ VX or Geil One BH5 or Mushkin Redline are good. I hit 2-2-2-5 @ DDR533 easily with my VX.

Now if you talk 2gb sticks...

By far it's OCZ Platinum EL PC-4000 2x1gb. Rated for 3-2-3-8 @ DDR500. Anand got them to run 2.5-3-2-8 @ DDR533, so it just depends what sticks you run into. GSKill has similar sticks too but I'm not sure which. He hit DDR550.

Bottom line is if you want better sticks, you have to get Ballistix, but you sacrifice timings.

Huh? Where did you find that? What article was that and how old are those sticks? That wasn't in the 'FAST 2GB DDR Kits - Part 2' article..

i've heard accounts that the 2-2-2-5 XMS sticks can actually do 2-2-2-3 beyond 400 MHz effective memory speeds. pretty slick stuff, but you gotta know your math.

ddr1 is good stuff, but it's becoming outdated, AM2 and conroe won't support DDR1 anymore.
