I've had mixed results with DD-WRT and a few different rrouters. From bricking some to some that have very easy installs but tend to have flaky connections.

What's a good router out there with a good balance?

My primary use is streaming media to my Xbox 360

Thanks!

Both are Very Good.

The Buffalo has much stronger Wireless.

None of the Entry Level Router stand well very heavy P2P downloads.

Taking into consideration the big saving on "Questionable Downloads" One can spend few hundereds $$ on a "real" Router.

Any suggestions for an affordable(less than 200) router that won't bog down under P2P?

I own a Linksys WRT54GSv7 with DD-WRT. It's a horrible router, but DD-WRT makes it better. Occasionally I do what I consider to be heavy P2P and DD-WRT and my WRT54GS handles it just fine. I limit the P2P program to just 4 to 5 tasks at once. However there are times when I have 4 to 5 tasks running on the P2P program, then I'll have mIRC running in the background as well, downloading an anime file. Then there's the computer upstairs where my sister is busy playing MapleStory.

Basically, with DD-WRT, my WRT54GSv7 has coped with everything I've thrown at it. I rarely get reboots and I suspect that the Internet problems I'm getting on my computer are due to some driver problems and stuff like that.

I use a WRT54G V3(before they gimped it) and it handles pretty much anything I throw at it, granted I don't do a lot of heavy P2P anymore. I'll be picking up an ASA5505 pretty soon though to power my house as I'll be working more from home and I've been very impressed with the one I run at work.

It's been handling 6 VLANs and 6-10 IPSEC VPNs without breaking a sweat. Although it's usually only doing 20-25mbps through the firewall.
