Best current AV?

Hi guys!
I used KAV for 2 years and was really happy with it, but my license just expired, so I thought I could benefit from your expetise.
Is KAV still top dog? Or...?

AFAIK they still have the most frequent updates (24 per day, versus 1 per week for some vendors) and score well in testing (av-comparatives.org being one you could check out). People have a weird aversion to it using "resources" (meaning, it digs deep enough to find stuff) but whatever.

If you and your other computer users aren't already using a Limited account for daily usage then that's another big boost in your security scheme, as long as it doesn't cause insurmountable issues with your software. Holler if you want to hear my tiresome pedantic ranting about the marvels of least-privilege usage 😀

I'll check the link.
And MBG- I always enjoy your rants. Fire away! (AKA, how does limited user work?)

And here's another interesting one: http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis/archive/2005/04/18/TableOfContents.aspx

My own rants/raves start here: http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/guides/build/limited.html Basically, a Limited/Restricted-User account is like an unloaded handgun. The bad guys can grab it out of your holster and... I dunno, throw it at you? 😛 But they can't shoot you with it, there's no ammo.

Web browsers, IM proggies and email clients are the main ones I would worry about. Some games and programs will freak if they're run under a Limited account (FarCry did some funky stuff to me) so I guess we'll have to wait for Longhorn before this really gets sorted out in the Windows realm.
