Best cpu+mobo combo for around $230?

I'm giving my dad my current cpu+mobo which consist of an e2180 overclocked to 3ghz.

I have been out of the loop for a month or so and I'm not sure whats the best bang for you buck deal.

I don't care if its amd or intel, and I will be overclocking this chip, thanks in advance.
 
I think I'm going to give the Phenom II a try, around what does it top out in with its stock heatsink, also with top of the line air cooling?
 
Stock you'll get somewhere between 3-3.5ghz (on default voltage) depending on ambient/case cooling and how comfortable you are with temperatures pushing towards the sixties (centigrade)
Good air cooling will net somewhere between 3.5-4ghz depending on how much voltage you're willing to push
 
I don't see any reviews for that asrock mobo, but it does have everything I want. Do you guys know of any user or any site reviews? I might pull the trigger on it anyways.
