Best CPU bench marking + temperature program?

I just bought a new PC, and I have no clue which software tells me hardware benchmarks, or temps. I used one of the programs(PCSOFT) I believe, but is there any other program that does that, or is there a better one?

Also, I'm looking for a program that tracks the temps

What's the ideal temp for a P4 2.4 Ghz ?
 
Use motherboard monitor for measuring the temps. Good benchmarks are anything that measures realworld performance instead of giving synthetic results. Games with built in benchmarks are good, ones that are synthetic would be 3dmark03, sandra, and the like.
