Yep, you can't really beat the Logitech Cordless Optical Freedom set. Good stuff...

The Freedom Optical seems to be "cool" with an optical mouse and more functions, but the Freedom Pro seems to be more ergonomic and has the split keyboard design that I am already used to. (because I am using MS Natural Keyboard).

Which one should I choose?

What's the range on these things?

My idea is to have a computer in a room next to the living room and run A/V out to TV.
Will the KB & Mouse work in the living room with the comp in another?

Also, will I be able to play fps games with the kb & mouse (How bad is the lag?)

I just got the cordless Freedom (nothing special) for $50 or so... newegg. I killed my previous keyboard by knocking the mouse off the desk. For an AV system, I'd go with the cheaper Logitech cordless because it's probably going to see some problems later down the line. Sounds like you're going out of range though..... it doesn't travel through walls or anything thick, you'd have to carry the reciever into the other room, which may defeat the purpose.

Was hoping to get that and one of them AIW cards. I read that those remotes can be used in different rooms.
