Best cordless keyboards

I enjoy decompressing after work by gaming on the couch while my spouse watches tv. Unfortunately, I have a Gateway P-7811FX laptop, so after about 5 minutes my baby-maker is on fire.
To remedy the issue I'd like to hook the computer up to a second tv that I have in my living room and snag a cordless keyboard and mouse to use from the couch.

I'm not a "HARDCORE" gamer, so refrain from the purist debate of whether games can be played effectively via cordless. That's all I can find on forums so far. I play MMORPG's mostly and some turn-based games...so I don't need the crazy sensitivity or response time that makes you UBER.

I just need a nice piece of equipment that will get the job done. I'm willing to spend a few bucks. My only two requirements are:
-The keyboard must have a number pad
-It must work at a decent distance (20ish feet)

Any suggestions?

How about this idea. Get a TV tray and set the laptop on it. Then with a cheap KB and mouse your good to go. Besides you shouldn't be using a laptop dirrectly on your lap anyway. Thats when you start to get heating issues. It should always sit on a hard flat surface.

Logitech mice have fairly good input lag, so it'll be nice. As for keyboard, I'm not too sure. People tell me the Apple wireless keyboard is nice, you'll just need to do a few registry hacks in order to get the command key as a window key.

@ mpilchfamily: Yeah, I'm aware that a laptop (dispite the name) really shouldn't be used on your lap. I've considered the tray option. I was going to order from http://www.lapdawg.com/ but I've read really bad reviews about the product breaking.

Typically I console game, but I like the idea of being able to just recline with a keyboard on my lap and play a little 50" WoW from the couch. 😀

@Slugbait: Logitech seems like the only viable options. The MX 5500 definitely looks nice. I was also looking at the DiNovo keyboard for notebooks, but it's USB and I haven't read any reviews that highlight the wireless range.
