Wow I just had the wickedest idea of building my PC arcade controllers with these wireless pads. But I don't feel like buying these now that I already have PC controllers to use.

Last great one was the Microsoft Sidewinder USB.

Currently, best you can do is the Xbox controller with a usb adapter.

I currently use the MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro on my HTPC rig....it's a great controller. Not so many bells & whistles as the newer pads, but it does wonderfully with my old emulator games.

I have the wired version of the Logitech Wingman Rumblepad and I love it. IMHO it beats the MS Freestyle Pro and the Old Shool Sidewinders easily. I use it for my racing games.

Or if you have to have a wired one or want even cheaper get this one. I used this one exclusively for my gaming for many years without fail and the best wired one you will find period for less then $16.
I agree --- love the wingman wireless.

I dont have a ps2 controller so that didnt make everybody :)

Well I can only say if you want a good true computer controller you wont go wrong with either of the two I mentioned. I had a Saitek that my wife bought me for my birthday and I eneded up returning it because for me it didnt compaire to the Logitech one. But thats my opinion and I did own both so I know which one to me made the cut.

One thing that kills EVERY pc controller out there for me is a lack of analog shoulder buttons. Makes them pretty useless for racing games.

I have had 2 of these for about 2 years now since my walmart put them on clearance for 10 dollars a piece I would love to pick up a couple more of these to have as backups but not going to beat that 10 dollar price only problem I have with these that they are heavy I wish they would update them like they did the ps2 and the xbox version to hold only 2 AA batteries instead of 4. that would be great. But overall these are great controllers to have especially on running my pc on my 36 inch gateway monitor along with my htpc

I have the xbox version and it still takes 4 aa's. Are you sure you have the same ones?

As for the racing games it has 2 analog sticks. Just configure the one stick for steering and the other for gas and brake. Very sensitive sticks and are perfect fo racing.

That was the first version of the xbox wireless controller, logitech released a new one a few months ago (I think its supposed to be smaller too), that only takes 2 batteries.

As for using the right analog stick for gas/brake, I've never really been able to get used to that, I'm going to pick up a xbox controller adaptor for the pc. Anyone know if wireless controllers (like the logitech one) will work with that?

MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro

Not a bad controller but is useless due to the worst D-pad ever. Its almost impossible to push straight down or left because of the offset mount and it is a 1-button D-pad. This contoller pissed me off so bad in THPS when I would try to do a bluntslide or anything involving the down direction... TERRIBLE controller!

Yes, the d-pad is pretty tough to get used to....but I've gotten pretty familiar with the pad and can play Motocross Madness 2 pretty well with it.

I got one of these wired Logitechs about 2 years ago on a price mistake at Staples for $9. I didn't like it though - gave it away.

The problem with the wireless logitechs is that the dpads are horrendous for Street Fighter games. Not trying to thread crap, but from someone who has played fighting games for over 10 years, I don't like to compromise much :) The best fighting pad for PC is the Saitek series, which is second only to the Japanese Sega Saturn Pad. The wireless goes for $30 in some places if I recall.

If you don't use a dpad much, these controllers are nice and a few bucks cheaper than the Saitek wireless.

A can't go wrong method is to drop a few bucks on two wireless Saiteks, and an EMS USB2 convertor. 2 PS2 pads and 2 Saiteks make a killer combination and comfort for any game. Plus you can hook up 2 DDR pads for Stepmania compatibility!

Again, sorry for crapping as this deal may be hot for others!!
