Best multiplayer console game EVER???

I say Super Smash Brothers for N64. The game is totally classic, and the sequel for game cube just doesnt really compare to the original. Goldeneye 007 comes in a close 2nd...

I'd add a poll, but I havent been keeping up with console games in the past few years...

I haven't played them all, so I couldn't really say which is the best. I can say, though, that my friends and I have spent FAR more time playing multiplayer Halo than any other game.

EDIT: I am a little biased against Super Smash Bros, mostly because I suck at it.

Yea, alot of people stop likeing the game when I ebarrass them with my 1337 kirby/fox skillzzzzz
 
I don't play that many games in general, but of the ones I've played, there was that Super Mario Kart one, for N64 I believe, Goldeneye, and any of Tony Hawks skateboarding games. Also, there was this one game where you were on a water jet ski, and it was fun as well.

Only reason I dont like goldeneye, is because when you play multiplayer, the spawn points for when you die go in a specific order, so if you play one level enough, you can start running to your opponent's next spawn point before they can get a decent weapon...

one of my cousins could do this in the temple, and I couldnt stand playing him...
 
wow...i'm surprised no one's mentioned Halo yet.

although I normally don't like games like it I think Halo is pretty damn fun. lol.

I think its because anyone whose old enough to have played goldeneye know its the best console FPS EVAR!

Any of the Mario series games - Mario Kart, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Strikers...Virtua Tennis for Dreamcast is pretty sweet as well I have to agree on that one. I was never a fan of Goldeneye or any other FPS on consoles for that matter....

What's wrong with SSBM? I'd say for me, it's a tie between SSBM and Perfect Dark. I just liked Perfect Dark more than Goldeneye, I guess.
