The Xbox 360 controller should work fine. Both Microsoft. I wonder if the Ouya controller would work...

I have the Xbox 360 controller. P&P, so nice and easy to use. I have no complaints with it.

I use the XBox 360 wireless controller; it works great, it has native support in Win 7 and most games nowadays are set up to take advantage of it from the get-go. It helps that I also have an XBox 360, so I had additional controllers lying around already. I've heard great things about the PS4 controller, and if you're thinking about getting a PS4, that might be good for a future investment. But for right now, I absolutely recommend the MS 360 controller.

xbox 360 wireless controller. Great range, and the lag is acceptable if you're not playing frame-counting games like street fighter. If you do play fighting games get the wired version.

XBOX 360 wired controller for me. Figured it would be the best supported on a Windows box.

Wired 360 pad here. Try doing this to the dpad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBZVN9t9ztE
I found it helped quite a bit.

I've also tried one of Logitech's Latest F series pads and I quite frankly didn't care for it. I found it to be rather uncomfortable and the analog triggers to be far too stiff. But that's just me.
