I believe that the 1xx series Opterons still only have one HT bus. 2xx and 8xx series have 3.

A Willdcat is incapable of any decent framerates in video games. Therefore, unless CAD is being done, 7800GTX's are still a better deal.

No, all socket 939 opterons only have 1 HT link. There still are 1xx socket 940 opterons out there. the 2xx and 8xx do of course have 3 HT links as well (also being socket 940)

You're quoting some asshat named "Zarubable," not JEDI, who was talking about my rig, not the OPs. I know exactly what the wildcat is for, and I certainly didn't buy it to impress some random 56 post wonder whose been on the forum less than 2 months. And I got it before the 7800 even existed.

To be fair, you got over 6,000 of your posts in your first 2 months! 😛

Wrong (sort of )
HyperTransport Links (total/coherent) 1xx = 3/0 2xx = 3/1 8x = 3/3

(from your own link)
Total links don't count if they aren't coherent.

They are no different than an A64.

IOW, they r0x0r 😀

actually they are they are higher grade quality than athlons that is why they are so stable specially for ocing 🙂 and the 1mb cache 🙂

3 HTTs ARE still there though, regardless of whether they are coherent, operational, etc.
On the X2s there is only 1 total/coherent/operational HTT period.
