BEST COMPUTER BUILD EVER??

Here's my computer build so far. What do you think? ALL parts are on order and waiting to arrive.

Case: Cooler Master Centrioun 532 (2 120mm fans cooler master 1 in 1 out, 1 80mm thermaltake out)
Mobo: ASUS A8N32-SLI
CPU: AMD Opteron 175 (2.2 Dual-Core)
Mem: 2 GB OCZ PC 4000 Plat DC Kit
Power: SeaSonic S12 600W
DVD: BenQ 1640
HD: 500 GB SeaGate 7200.9 (might buy another later)
Video: EVGA 7800 GTX ACS KO Edition (order another later)
Sound: X-Fi Fatal1ty
CPU HS+F: Sycthe Ninja w/120mm ThermalTake Fan) with AS5

What you think? Any problems that might arise??

I think I'd have the best computer build EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks good, but it'll be obsolete in a few months 😉

J/k, looks good, but I dunno about that Opteron for gaming unless I've been outta the loop for a while or something...

😕

As always, personal preference, but w/ 2x120mm there's no way it can't kick some ass.

Mobo: ASUS A8N32-SLI
The only thing on the list that looks out of place.

CPU: AMD Opteron 175 (2.2 Dual-Core)
Very good choice. 939 Opterons are no different than any other 939 CPU. The extra FPU power (i.e. less gaming power) is only in the 940s, which aren't target at gamers anyway.

Mem: 2 GB OCZ PC 4000 Plat DC Kit

Power: SeaSonic S12 600W
:thumbsup::thumbsup::beer::cookie:

DVD: BenQ 1640

HD: 500 GB SeaGate 7200.9 (might buy another later)
 though for the gigabyte per dollar, you may need a couple more

Video: EVGA 7800 GTX ACS KO Edition (order another later)
Wow. That's enough ramen for 10 college students for 2 semesters or something like that.

Sound: X-Fi Fatal1ty
I honestly think this product is fscking stupid. Unless they magically can add dolby digital live to this $250 piece of sh!t, it will alwas be a piece of sh!t. I'm not trying to say it won't be great for you, but much like alien abduction insurance, I need to sell all the owners of these ocean front property in Arizona.

CPU HS+F: Sycthe Ninja w/120mm ThermalTake Fan) with AS5

When do you plan on buying another 7800GTX? If you don't get it soon, it'll become obsolete, and you'll have wasted a lot of money on SLI.

You're outta the loop.

The s939 Opterons are all the rage these days, since they currently OC better than anything out there 😀

Jeffito123: System looks superb, though personally, i wouldn't go with Asus.

Maybe the DFI?
Or MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, or Abit AN8 Ultra.

Best ever requires SCSI drives. That said, your specs aren't bad, just wait for the 512MB 7800GTX since you can obviously afford it.

If you head over to the Video forum you will see that rumors are flying around like crazy about the possibility that next week NVIDIA will release a 7800GTX with 512MB of RAM that runs at 550/1800!!! If this proves to be true, it is pretty widely agreed upon that such a card would bury both the current GTX as well as the forthcoming X1800XT. You certainly won't go wrong with the KO, but I would wait to see how this rumor pans out next week before pulling the trigger on a video card.

Sorry, just realized that you've already ordered... Well, you can always use the Step-Up program from eVGA... For what it's worth, you might want to consider posting a thread like this before you buy 🙂

Enjoy your new rig. 🙂

I thought operons weren't as good for gaming I did know they are better for OCing but can anyone comment on how they perfom with gaming?

They are no different than an A64.

IOW, they r0x0r 😀

Best computer at EVERYTHING 😛

Well, I have been reading these boards and researching for a couple of months 🙂 These parts are best for my own personal opinion 😉

I also went with EVGA just so I COULD do the step up...thanx for all your input! I really appreaciate it

ohh...and why not ASUS? The only reason I went with them is b/c their new boards looks really tite...

i like the idea of heat pipe cooling for the chipset. I would do water cooling, but i'm a total n00b

You gotta be kidding Jedi!!
If you believe that she has over $1,500 invested in just speakers for the computer...rofl..to funny.....add all that ****** up.....thats a bogus computer rigg if I ever saw one..hehehe...entertaining though

http://anandtech.com/mysystemrig.aspx?rigid=29938

Dual Core Opteron--- approx $1,300
Tyan Thunder K8WE S2895UA2NRF $600
3DLabs Wildcat Realizm 800 Video Card $1,621.53 - $2,264.37

need i say more...lolol

Opteron 175 and X2 4400 have same Toledo cores. The only differences is Opterons have 3 HyperTransport pipes and X2s only have 1. Not sure how this will equate into higher overclocks. In addition, I question this "server-grade" silicon banter...

If anyone wants to see how the Opteron 175 overclocks, there is a guy doing it in the OCForum.com's forums....
