What is the best intel CPU / motherboard combo right now as far as bang for the buck? (best value)... I need ability for 4 PATA devices (I have nothing SATA) and I also need a PCI express slot for my graphics card. What are my options? Anything below $250? Want to avoid AMD and Celeron. Also I am not thrilled with the nvidia chipsets.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

This was not flame bait. I owned Intel ever since the Celeron 300A... so I guess there is a little brand loyalty there. Also, the last AMD system I put together was a real pain in the ass... it still isn't finished. AN8 with Audigy2 = BIG problems.
