I am going to the eye doctor for my 1st pr of contact lenses, I think I want colored contacts, which are lenses best ?

I'm just nearsighted so it's a single correction prescription

Have you worn colored contacts before? I wore glasses and contacts from 9 until 32, then had lasik done. I dont know why but everytime I saw someone with colored contacts on, they had too much of an artificial look, so I never bought any.

Otherwise, my nephew used to swear by acuvue disposables, before he also had lasik done.

the thought of letting anybody near my eyes with a laser scares me.

I know a few people who wont have it done because of all the risks. In fact, after reading the several pages of warnings, risks and waivers, I got up out of the chair and walked striaght past everyone and started driving home. It was THAT scary!

But then about halfway home I decided to go through with it. The wierdest part was sitting around for about 10 mins with a bunch of other people with the flaps they cut in my eyes to allow the laser to do its job. I was completely blind!

I love my contacts, they are really thin soft lenses, and allow my eyes to breathe.
I used to buy cheaper lenses, but they gave me bad headaches and damaged my eyes.
I'd ask the optometrist what would be the best brand for you.
What color are you going with?

I'm blonde, fair skinned, my eyes are hazel and change colors ranging from green to blue/gray so I'm thinking green, blue or gray.

Hazel eyes are my favorite. Hazel and Brown.
I'd go with green if anything.

I'd go for green eyes, but only if they can give you a muted color. The green ones I've seen were too intense in color, and looked fake.

You can only get certain colors from certain namebrands. I wear biomed 55 they are clear and very comfortable, they are not so thin they are hard to handle. I have used acuvue before and hated them. The 55 means they are 55 percent water so they keep your eyes from drying out. If you want to go with colors most ppl prefer the Acuvue2 colors, they are very thin. If your doctor is like mine he will have you go through a fitting to make sure which lens fits you better. If I were you I would not invest in colored lens until you are sure you can wear contacts since the colors tend to be more expensive.
