Well Im in the market for a new printer and would like to purchase one this week since it is no tax week in Georgia :).

Anyway after years of having a LexMark Z22 Ive come to the conclusion itd just be cheaper to purchase a better printer and quit buying all these cartridges for such a crappy printer..

Anyone have any suggestions for me

Second the Pixma series, just got my parents the 5000.

Very nice printer, & incredibly cheap to operate - cheaper than many lasers.

I really like my Epson R200 with its 6 individual ink pots.
But more than that... I love being able to print directly on CD's and DVD's that I burn.

those options are pretty cool, but my luck with epson, although they print nicely, they seem to dry out quickly if not used atleast 1x/week. just my opinion...

Oh, and welcome to the AT forums, Blood.,

All for Canon here - excellent print quality and cheap to operate. No clogging problems like Epsons. Outpost.com has the iP4000 for $80. AR (reg. price about $150.) (the current Consumer Reports "Best Buy"). I'd say either the 4000 or 5000 (which I've also seen deals on lately) are the choices in your price range. Or you could wait until the new Canon line hits the channel in a month or so - they likely will also have CD/DVD printing, which function is vestigial in the current Pixma series here. The equivalent new models to the 4k or 5k will likely still be under $200. as CD/DVD printing is functional on the current Pixma line in You-Rope...
. The best 3rd party ink I've used so far is from swiftink.com - it certainly isn't the cheapest but I like having the works - quality output and price still less than half of OEM tanks. The darn tanks seem to last forever.
