Best cologne for the $$$

I used to wear whatever that 90s one was called... Aqua Digio or whatever. And Curve Wave. I don't really wear cologne anymore.

D&G "The One"
Hugo Boss
Sean Jean - "I am King"

Really there are so many awesome smelling colognes these days it just depends on what you like.

Too bad the ones that are good actually are universally pretty expensive.

Agreed. I love Nautica cologne

Yep, I'm a fan too (even though I don't wear cologne too much). Bottle like this will last me 5+ years (but I have # of them).

Long story short, when those were on sale at 11/12 I got them for 1/2 my in laws as Christmas presents hehe

But even at current price...they are still a steal.

I've had best luck with vanilla extract. Women know this smell. It's a happy smell. Reminds them of cookies, cakes, etc. All women like that. It actually makes them smile.

I splash on some Florida Water after I shave, and sometimes a light sprinkle of bay rum cologne for special occasions.

Go to Sephora and try out a bunch on the little cards. Then select three and they'll give you testers of those that will last you for 3-4 uses. That should be enough to give you a good idea of what you like.

Geir Ness is my suggestion for an all purpose cologne. You can not beat its versatility in my opinion.

The one that smells best on you. I have a cheap $50 bottle of Gucci Guilty sitting next to a $150 bottle of Tom Ford. Both smell great on me, but for different reasons.

Main things for picking out a scent:
1. Go to places like Nordstroms or high end stores if you are new to buying, the people working there know what they are doing.
2. If you don't know what you want, just tell the person what kind of natural smells you enjoy (Sweet, musky, clean, pine, etc...).
3. Don't try and smell everything, after four samples your nose is shot or burning out (and always smell coffee between samples).
4. Cologne that smells good on one person may not smell good for you, my body chemistry makes YSL smell like battery acid.
5. When you try cologne on, make sure you are clean and aren't wearing anything with strong smells. So if you own Axe body wash, it will ruin anything you put on.
6. Only try on two colognes at a time, have them spray it on your wrist in a small patch.
7. Cologne changes with time. It may smell good to start, but ten minutes later could be "meh". On the other hand, you may find it gets better with time.
8. Don't be afraid to walk away, if you didn't find anything you like then try again after you've washed off and gave your nose a rest for the day.
9. Don't buy the big bottles, even if you wear it every day, the small bottles will last a year. And by a year, you'll be tired of it and want to try something new.
10. If you can afford it, get a light easy going scent for work and a bolder one for the night out that can stand out over all the smells in a club/bar.

Most of all, just buy what you think smells good. If you enjoy it, then that's all.

I've been using the victorias secret "Very Sexy I" for a couple years now and still haven't found one that I like more. I have gotten numerous complements on it. Not the cheapest if you buy it in the store but I think you can get it cheaper online. a $50 bottle lasts me well over a year.

my favorites are the ones I wore during teenage years (I guess I'm stuck with it now).

Cool Water, Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger, Joop, CK Eternity

😎

By far the best results I have gotten are from Phat Farm Atman Cologne. Not really a Phat Farm type of guy generally but I can't argue with the results. I almost always get compliments and have had women snuggle up to me and inhale because of it

Soap and water FTW.

Girls love clean looking and clean smelling guys.

One more thing, in this case (cologne), less is more. No need to take a bath and reek in it.
