This Speeze looks pretty good, but it will cost you $2 over your limit (see note at end):

Speeze CPU Fan Model 5F263B1M3 for AMD/Intel Socket A/370

I am thinking of picking up one or two for myself. It's very highly rated in reviews.

Has anyone here had any exprerience with this hsf?

Remember to pick up your customer appreciation gift/combo at bottom worth $5, making cost of fan and shipping $7?

Edit: Just noticed it's a single clip, but I think I would still go with it. I have never had any problems with single clips, but then I don't change processors frequently.

Try to find someone with a spare stock heatsink from a newer Barton chip, triple clip and a nice chunk of copper on the bottom.

You're probably NOT going to find a triple clip HSF at that price. However, for a really decent HSF under $10, try looking at this one. It comes to ~$9.34 shipped (yes, that includes the fan!) and works pretty well. I've used them before with good results on systems that are <XP2000+. To go any higher you would need a stronger fan.

OMG, it looks like they copied the Speeze, with a cheaper fan!

Damn pspada, even you ought to know that loads of companies "rebadge" items to sell under their own name. Heck more probably do this than sell their own actual product. I'm not sure if they are one and the same; not having seen the Speeze in person. SVC has been selling this HSF for a number of years though; whether it is made by Speeze or someone else. As to the fan, why pay more for an aluminum frame, other than eye candy; if that? Durability? We are not talking about anything but the frame here; not the bearings or any critical component. They are rated virtually the same as far as cfm and dba levels(with a very slight edge to the GC68). Both units include the fan guard and thermal grease. Tell me, why would you want to pay more for virtually the same thing?

As a past user of the GC68, I'll tell you something else too. Since they are virtually the same (apparently) HSF's, someone is a bit optimistic about how good this unit is. I'll give you a clue; it isn't SVC. Speeze (their own web site) says that this unit can handle a 1.4 T-Bird, XP2600+ or Barton 3000. In a pigs ear! At least, not with that fan. At least SVC tells you up front that you would need a stronger fan. Yes, the HS can handle the heat reasonably, but NOT with a 32cfm fan.
I stand by the original recommendation. The GC68 is a better buy in this case; no matter who you think makes it or made it first. I've used them building budget systems; have you?

I was only registering my surprise that anyone would bother to clone the speeze, instead of say, the SK-7.

And we're talking about a "sub $10.00" HSF. Remember the title of this thread? Staying on topic has it's advantages.
