Best CD/DVD Burning Software.....???

Been using Nero 6 Ultimate since it came out, but hear/read about a lot of people using other software. What do you use?

The 500mb install that is Nero 7.

Used Nero 5.5 forever, but now use Nero 6.....not much difference between the main Nero program, but the extra features are nice.

I remember 6 being noticeably slower and bloaty compared to 5 but once you give in you may as well go 7. At least its add-ons are optional so that a bare install may be a svelte 100MB. 😉

Anyhoo, me likey but for DVD-RAM I eschew InCD in favour of Matsushita's driver.

That's just it............Nero is becoming so bloated..........all I need/want it burning software and I don't care for InCD...........

i used to use nero 6 ultra edition...then someone gave me their copy of nero 7 ultra edition because it was too bloated...THEN i saw on mfsn.org forums that someone has made a lite installation of nero 7, so i used the key i got and it works! nero 7 unbloated edition!

then i use alcohol 120% to burn all my cd/dvd images.

mfsn.org topic... err, I don't get it. What does it do that the normal installer cannot? Indeed, the "Lite" installer would appear to install more bloat than the normal installer allows to exclude.

most of the crap that is left out is 99.9% of the bloat that i didnt need. well startsmart would have been nice to have, but its alright.

i dont get how the lite installer appears to install more bloat than the normal installer...?

Thanks for the link to Nero 7 Lite. The only thing I use in Nero is Nero Burning Rom, which I love. I absolutely hate the way Nero has become bloatware-its a perfect example of a fine product ruined.

haha yep. man, seriously this lite installer is so good...it has everything i needed from past nero editions. and if i really needed to, i can reinstall nero 6 extras or whatever that isnt in the nero 7 lite install.

Nero 7 is awesome for Windows. Totally 'suite'. k3b for Linux. I haven't tried NeroLINUX yet.

But for backing up DVD's, I love AnyDVD +CloneDVD 2. 😉
