I've read many stuff online but I would like some current input.
My curreng rigg is
moba: rampage v extreme
cpu cooling: h100 (push only)
gpu: 2x 970
sound card: creative
psu: 1000w cooler master.
storage: 3x seagate hdd and 3x ssd.

I would like to know what is best case for this setup? I know for a fact that a full tower will fit everything in but it will be over kill and almost making transportation impossible. Anyone with good experience have suggestions?

Thanks

I used this: https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/case/#t=3&f=3

And checked some of them for the specifics you listed. Not every case on the list will fit your hardware (for example, the Air 540 won't hold 3 normal HDDs unless you buy an adapter)

Corsair Air 540 (maybe the footprint is okay and you're willing to buy an adapter)
Corsair 450D
Corsair 500r
NZXT H440 (no optical drive and I tried looking around for whether or not E-ATX will fit -- some say yes, some say no)

Possibly useless information:

Fractal Design R4 would fit your E-ATX board, but it isn't a good fit for the H100.

Throughout my research I came up with the same solutions. I just wish someone could simply tell me "for your setup you can use ____ it will work perfectly"

But, it won't. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much of a case market.

What makes transportation so important?

Lol, your setup and size requirements kind of go against each other and make your choices a bit limited, but hey, it's alright. You just need to, perhaps, wait for some more suggestions and then narrow it down while keeping in mind that you can't have it all.

A budget Corsair 200R can be found for $50 and it's top exhaust can easily fit a H100 and even a H110.

Any variant of the Phanteks Enthoo line will work. Not exactly a small case but not a full tower either.

Weird, cause I even remember OC3D covering that topic and it's iffy.

I looked for the video and found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgTMIlzmwQ8

@12:00

Thanks for the link!

When I went out to personally buy my Corsair 200R, there was a demo PC on display fully built and it did have a Corsair H100 on the top of the Corsair 200R, with fans in push towards exhaust. So I think with 2 fans, it'll definitely fit. With push/pull however, I'm not entirely sure if it would.

After watching that video, I'm not entirely sure if the H110 will actually fit, even though the case top does support 2x140mm, considering it will be mounted so much closer to the mobo, it probably won't fit properly.

And what is your opinion based on? BS?

To the OP, yes that case will fit all your parts no problem.

Why are you attacking me? Get off me.

For OP:
Read the reviews of the case. The case's window is made from cheap acrylic and is so prone to scratching that 90% of the reviewers claim the case's window arrived heavily scratched up.

Furthermore:
- For $100, only two fans are included. Corsair's 200R @ $50 already comes with two fans included.
- For $100, it is made of steel, whereas most cases $100-$130 are made of aluminum
- The HDD cages can be removed, but it removes the entire cage altogether, so you won't even be able to mount a harddrive or optical drive or an SSD. Terrible design.

The only thing good about the case is it's ultra-compatibility with a wide variety of water-cooling solutions, you can fit up to 360mm radiator on the top or even in the front with some modding.

So unless you're going custom water-cooling, you can get better-priced cases for your needs.

Again, pure BS. Can you even back up your supposed "facts"? "90% of the reviewers claim the case's window arrived heavily scratched up" how many reviews have you read? Can you link them?

"most cases $100-$130 are made of aluminum" Please list these cases.

Pure BS. It is clear that you either cannot comprehend the reviews you have read or that you have no first hand knowledge of this case.

I am not attacking you, but if you are going to give an opinion, how about it be based on facts or experience?

A $50 Corsair 200R can fit your needs just fine. I'm 90% sure the H100 can fit in that case with 2 fans, but I don't think it'll fit with 4 fans in push/pull.

Verified Owners claim...
Danny B. - "-Slightly scratched window from packaging. (Must look closely to see scratches.)"
Nathan G. - "Scratched window"
Peter M. - "there is a accessory box inside the case that is not attached well this is the second case that i get that has been all scratched up inside since this build is not for myself and it will be a water cooled show build the scratches are unacceptable"
Dustin P. - "Naturally, getting a case like this with a large side window panel, I intend for it to be shown off... The case arrived with the side window panel all scratched up though. This is very important to me, as I keep my things in pristine condition, especially something I intend to show off."
Chris P. - "the viewing window came scratched from the inside due to how it was packaged and are actually kind of deep. I imagine the box that was just tossed inside the case banged around during transportation."
Justin R. - "There were some light scratches on the inside of the window from the accessory box coming loose during shipping, but they are barely visible from the outside."
and many, many more...

"most cases $100-$130 are made of aluminum" Please list these cases.

- LIAN LI PC-9F
- LIAN LI PC-7HWX
- Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Series PH-ES614L
- Antec Performance One Series P183 V3
- Antec Sonata Series SOLO II
- Corsair Obsidian Series 350D
- Several more...

For OP...
The Corsair Air 540 is a really nice case but it's expensive. You can find very similar cases for cheaper like:
- Anidees AI7B Cube - $89.99
- Anidees AI7BW Cube - $94.99 (Windowed version)
* They come with a lot more fans than the Corsair
* These are in Canadian prices, you can find it even cheaper in the USA.

Thanks, the anidees looks really awesome. However, when i click the link it said "no psu" what does that mean? Also there's still only 2 hdd slots. I have 3.

No PSU means:
It means it doesn't come with a Power Supply Unit, like most cases.

It can support:
1 * 5.25", 4 * 3.5" or 5 * 2.5" devices (4 * 2.5" convert from 3.5" cage)

Look at the pictures, the "cold" side of the case can support more HDDs and SSDs.

It seems that's the case which I should go for. However I have 3 hdd drive. 540 only have 2 hdd slots /=

A <$10 adapter would do the trick. If you really like the look and form factor and have the money, the only thing I can now recommend is checking out a couple videos on YouTube to get a better idea of the layout and pros/cons. I do like the look of it as well. I think the layout makes assembly very easy and prevents having a cable mess. Only downside I see is the lack of 3.5 drive mounting options, which can be remedied with the adapter.

I personally like Corsair for their customer service as when it comes down an RMA, you fill out a form and so far, in my experience, having sent in three PSUs (one had coil whine, 2 were killed by the terrible power service in the US Virgin Islands), they authorize RMAs with no questions asked and no fuss. These guys even sent me what appeared to be a brand new PSU with a whole new set of cables.

My experience with their cases, however, is limited to only the 300R for my brother. Dead simple, easy to assemble and solid. My brother is kind of a derp when it comes to PC building, but he found it quite easy to install a new BR drive and mount a Thermalright True Spirit heatsink.

Anyway, I hope this helps a bit.

Man where do you find these cases, lol. Looks alright and the price is pretty low, but no reviews, no word on warranty coverage, build quality, etc. Don't get me wrong, I will look into this company and their products, but it's hard to just buy with no info.

As for the 540 being expensive, I do believe in paying more to have warranty coverage and support. Not to mention all the user feedback, video reviews, and knowing that Corsair is an established brand.

As for the list of alu cases, you might as well strike off the Lian Li cases cause they're a pain in the butt to work in even though I've own or owned the X500, X1000, V351, K62, A77, and A17. Lol, there's always some quirkiness that just prevents me from saying they're a great buy, except maybe the K62.
